The need for a program for therapeutic horsemanship has been recognized by the Gloucester County leaders. Together with the Gloucester County Improvement Authority, a wonderful horse park was created to offer the space for equine assisted therapies and recreational horse activities. In the Company of Horses, LLC was awarded the bid for therapeutic services. The need to offer therapeutic riding was well recognized. Immediately, the need for a non profit existed in order to keep the cost to a minimum for families in need. A team approach was called for in order to offer services to the surrounding communities. Equine Assisted Therapy and Handicapped Riding of New Jersey naturally formed with the help of the Dream Park, Gloucester County College and In the Company of Horses working together to meet the needs of the community. Our mission is to provide educational, therapeutic and recreational activities with horses that will increase the quality of life to individuals, families and communities.
