VolunteersVolunteers are the back bone of our program. Each student generally will need 3 people in addition to the certified North American Riding Handicapped Association (NARHA) instructor. There will be a horse leader and two side walkers assisting each student. Volunteers must be 14 years of age and be trained by our staff. We follow the NARHA model to train our volunteers. Whether volunteers are helping care for the animals or assisting in a lesson, all receive immense rewards. We offer other opportunities such as preparing mailing lists, helping organize special events and fundraising. It is truly a team effort. By working together we can accomplish great things to help humans and horses. Orientations are held for volunteers as well as hands on training.
